The Key Role of Durable Trommel Screens in Organic Fertilizer Screening

Leave a message

Organic fertilizer applications have specific particle size requirements and require impurity removal to prevent soil contamination or crop damage. The core functions of the Durable Trommel Screen are quality improvement, grading, and impurity removal, encompassing the entire process from post-fermentation processing to finished product packaging.

Coreal Machinery has compiled some information for your reference.

Durable Trommel Screen

I. Core Function: Accurate Grading, Enhancing Product Value

The most direct and important function of the Durable Trommel Screen is grading: Organic fertilizer raw materials are unevenly sized after fermentation and crushing. Passing through screens of varying apertures in the drum, the material is precisely sorted into multiple grades based on size.

1. Producing Standard Finished Fertilizer: Screening out uniform particles that meet standards (e.g., 1-4mm, 2-5mm), enhancing product value and market competitiveness.
2. Separating Oversized Materials: Separating incompletely crushed bulk materials and returning them to the crusher for secondary crushing, reducing waste.

3. Screening out fine powder: Separating excessively fine powder for direct sale or backfilling into the granulation process, regulating humidity, and improving pelletization rate and efficiency.

II. Equipment Advantages: High Efficiency, Stability, and Strong Adaptability

Compared to other screening equipment (such as vibrating screens), the Durable Trommel Screen offers unique advantages for organic fertilizer screening:

1. Large Processing Capacity: Continuous rotation allows for continuous production of large quantities of organic fertilizer, resulting in high processing capacity.
2. Non-clogging: The rotation provides a self-cleaning effect, causing material tumbling, and its anti-clogging capabilities are often superior to vibrating screens.
3. Smooth and Low Noise Operation: The power system is simple, stable, and low-energy, resulting in low maintenance costs and a long lifespan.
4. High Screening Efficiency: The material remains in the barrel for a long time, tumbling thoroughly, and particles are screened multiple times, resulting in high efficiency and precision.

III. Application Considerations: Ensuring Long-Term Stable Operation and Screening Performance

1. Control feed moisture and uniformity: Feed moisture should be between 15% and 30%. If it exceeds 30%, reduce the moisture. Use a "silo + screw feeder" system to ensure uniform feeding and prevent sudden influx of material.
2. Regular Inspection and Maintenance: Check the screen for damage and remove any residue daily. Lubricate the drum bearings with lithium-based grease weekly.
3. Adjust parameters based on product requirements: For seedling fertilizer, use a 0.5-1mm screen and a speed of 10-15 rpm; for base fertilizer, use a 2-5mm screen and a speed of 20-25 rpm.
4. Safety: Install a protective screen guard on the outside of the drum to prevent hand contact during operation. Install ventilation and dust removal equipment in the workshop.
