Pulse Jet Collectors: Solving The Problem Of Substandard Flour Collection Hygiene

Leave a message

With its efficient dust collection capabilities, enclosed operation, and easy-to-clean and maintain design, Pulse Jet Collectors are key equipment for solving this problem. They control contamination at the source and ensure hygienic and safe flour collection. Coreal Machinery has compiled some information for your reference.

Pulse Jet Collectors

I. Flour Characteristics

1. Flammable and Explosive: When flour dust suspended in air reaches a certain concentration, it can explode violently when exposed to open flames or high temperatures.
2. Strong Adsorption: It readily absorbs odors, moisture, and microorganisms in the environment.
3. Extremely High Hygiene Requirements: As a food ingredient, any source of contamination must be eliminated to prevent microbial growth, cross-contamination, and foreign matter.
4. High Flowability: It is prone to drift, causing material loss and environmental pollution.

II. How Pulse Jet Collectors Address the Problem

1. Efficient Collection, Preventing Dust Leakage

  • Working Principle: Dust-laden air enters the dust collector, where large particles settle due to gravity, while fine flour dust is retained on the outer surface of the filter bag (or cartridge). Purified air passes through the filter bag and is discharged from the top.
  • High Filtration: Using food-grade filter media with a smooth surface and dense fibers, the filter efficiency exceeds 99.9%, ensuring clean exhaust air and preventing dust from spreading within the workshop, causing secondary pollution and health hazards.

2. Automated Dust Cleaning, Preventing Bacterial Growth

  • Core Advantage (Pulse Jet Cleaning): This is the key to solving sanitation issues. The system uses a timer or differential pressure controller to automatically control the solenoid valve to activate the pulse valve. Compressed air is injected into the filter bag at high speed, creating a strong reverse airflow that causes the bag to expand and shake, removing any surface flour cake.
  • Pain Points Solved:

No Hygienic Dead Spots: Thorough dust cleaning prevents flour from accumulating on the filter bag, causing it to compact, mold, and breed bacteria. Maintaining Stable Air Volume: Stable cleaning capacity ensures consistent air volume and suction performance, preventing blockages that could lead to insufficient suction and eliminating dust escape at the source.

3. Designed to Meet Food Hygiene Requirements

  • Food-Grade Filter Media: Filter bags and cartridges are made of standard, non-toxic, odorless, anti-static materials that prevent flour adsorption.
  • Surface Treatment: The interior and exterior surfaces of the equipment are typically coated with food-grade epoxy resin or stainless steel, resulting in a smooth, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant surface that resists dust accumulation and is easy to clean and disinfect.
  • No-Dead-Angle Structure: The equipment utilizes large arc transitions to avoid 90-degree angles, eliminating internal blind spots. Quick-opening inspection doors facilitate daily inspection, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Excellent Sealing: Food-grade silicone seals are used on all joints to prevent external contaminants, internal dust leakage, and insect intrusion.

III. Notes

1. Filter Media Selection to Adapt to Flour Characteristics: Select filter media based on flour moisture content. When moisture content is high, waterproof and oil-resistant polyester filter bags are preferred to prevent moisture absorption and clumping of the flour.
2. Regular Cleaning and Maintenance: Thoroughly clean the equipment according to production frequency, including removing and cleaning the filter bags, wiping the filter box interior, and inspecting the seals for aging.
3. Control Air Speed and Pressure: Adjust the dust collector inlet air speed according to the flour particle size. High air speeds can easily cause filter bag wear and generate fiber impurities, while low air speeds reduce filtration efficiency. Maintain a stable pressure in the clean air chamber to prevent pressure fluctuations that can cause dust leakage.

For flour collection, Pulse Jet Collectors are more than just dust collection equipment; they are critical process units that ensure food safety, improve product quality, protect the production environment, and ensure operational safety.
